11 - PALAZZO  VALENTI  -  (Valenti Palace)

The palace of the counts Valenti di Riosecco, one of the many branches of the noble Trevana family, is for sure the most beautiful renaissance palace in Trevi. The big arched portal with lintel, decorated with manly visages, is simply wonderful. Very elegant the windows, decorated with the coat of arms of the Valenti and of the families  connected with them.

It is impossible to visit the palace, but you will be able to visit the doorway, in which you will see a system for the water supply that is typical of all the big houses in Trevi. Until 1928, year of the construction of the aqueduct, the water supply has been the greates problem for the Trevani. Therefore almost every house had a tank to store the rainwater. And for people who had not it, there was the public big tanks that fed the public fountains. During your itinerary you have already walked upon many big tanks, and it will happen again, but be not afraid: they are safe. They have been built many years ago!
